HELPFUL WEDDING PLANNING TIPS
It is never acceptable to include a bridal registry list in with your wedding invitation. It is acceptable however, to include one with shower invitations.
Guests invited to attend a bridal shower, should always receive an invitation to the wedding.
It is considered in poor taste for close family members to host a bridal shower.
If a person receives a shower invitation, but is unable to attend, they are in no way obligated to send a gift.
Select your gift registry four to six months prior to the wedding, making your wish list available for showers and early shoppers. Be sure to include some lower priced items for guests on a budget.
Never think you are obligated to invite the entire office staff to your wedding. Surround yourself with family and close friends. Remember the more guest you invite the more the cost!
Write your thank you notes as soon as possible, etiquette dictates no later than three months after the wedding. Who says the groom can't help with this, after all the gift was given to both of you!!
Try to be inventive when selection attendants gifts. A day at the spa, a gift certificate to a new boutique, theatre tickets, or a years subscription to their favorite magazine. The guys would appreciate a pair of tickets to an upcoming ball game or a massage.
Begin planning your wedding as soon as possible, the best services are often booked eighteen months in advance. Don't sign a contract with the first vendor you interview, talk to at least two vendors for each service needed. Read and re-read your contract, anything you don't understand, ask for an explanation. NEVER, EVER rely upon a verbal contract, for the sake of all parties involved, everything needs to be in writing.
